The Brandenburg 300 Project Honors

        Johannes Vermeer

was a Dutch painter who produced a small number of paintings, but those few are timeless masterpieces. Many of his paintings have musical themes. He died 10 years after Bach was born – the same year Bach became an orphan. Like Bach he had a large family with 14 children.
